What things cost, so you know before I start. I'm not VAT registered, so the price I quote is the price you pay.
How every job is priced
The same way every time, and you get the full total before anything is ordered or fixed.
Diagnosis
£60
Finding out what's wrong. Comes off the bill if you go ahead, and there's no charge if I can't find or fix it.
Labour
£80 per hour
Most jobs can be done within an hour. The cost is confirmed with you before I go ahead.
Parts
At cost
Parts prices are changing a lot at the moment, so I check the price when I quote and order nothing until you say yes.
Put together, most jobs come to £100–200. Your exact total depends on the parts.
Common jobs
What's involved, and whether it usually needs parts. I'll quote your total after the diagnosis.
Drive upgrade
A faster SSD fitted and everything moved across. Usually the biggest speed boost an older computer can get.
Laptop screen replacement
A new screen fitted and tested. Screens vary a lot in price by model.
Laptop keyboard or battery
A replacement part fitted and tested.
Memory (RAM) upgrade
More memory fitted and tested.
Windows reinstall
A clean start for a slow or broken system, with your files, photos and email kept.
Clean and repaste
Dust cleared and fresh thermal paste, for laptops and PCs that run hot or loud.
Virus and malware removal
Infections cleared, browser hijacks removed, and protection checked.
Recovering files
Getting photos and documents back from a failing or deleted drive. Badly damaged drives are quoted separately.
New computer setup
Your new PC or laptop set up, with files and email moved over from the old one.
Custom builds
Tell me your budget and what you'll use it for. Once we've agreed the parts, I'll quote the parts plus a build price. That covers assembly, cable management, setup and testing before you collect.
Plan a buildVisits
I can come to your home or office for setup, Wi-Fi problems, or jobs that can't be moved. Visits are booked in advance.

Collection and return anywhere in the area I cover is free.

Support for small teams is priced to what you need, so there's no fixed list. Tell me how many people you have and what's not working, and I'll put a price together.

What if you can't fix it?
Then there's no charge, not even the £60 diagnosis.
What if it's not worth fixing?
I'll tell you, and explain the options, including what a replacement would cost.
What if the same problem comes back?
If the same fault comes back within 60 days, I'll fix it free.
